In the beginning there was the smelly backyard trailer,
loose garbage bags torn apart by dogs, 44 gallon drums overflowing with
household rubbish, piles of waste both green & household mixed together
awaiting the ‘ big burn’ when the time was right.
This was the rural area over 20 years ago. There was a definite need for
some form of rubbish removal service. But what ? On canvassing the rural
area with a basic questionnaire we discovered that 240 litre Wheelie
Bins would be a possible solution to rubbish removal for many rural
residents. No such service existed within the rural area at this stage.
With an initial small response, Fin Bins began in December 1988. Since
then we have expanded along with the rapidly expanding rural area.
In 1996 Fin Bins expanded into the area of Skip Bins. These being of
metal construction & large enough for garden, shed, household & cyclone
clean ups. Thirteen years later these bins remain a popular form of
waste removal servicing both Darwin and Rural Areas.
Fin Bins has remained a locally Owned & Operated company employing local
people. We now service areas as far down as Batchelor and Adelaide
Over the past 20 years we have been
involved with and supported various Clubs and fundraising events
throughout the rural area. Where possible we aim to continue giving
something back to the community who have supported us over those years
and, with your support, we hope to be able to continue to do so for
years to come.
